Ruutu Vases
Created by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the Ruutu (which means “diamond” in Finnish) vase might be simple in shape but it takes the most skilled craftsmen in the glass factory to produce. The vases are mouth-blown into a steel mold and polished by hand. Each vase is a simplified masterpiece taking seven craftsmen and twenty-four hours to produce in the Iittala glass factory.
The fluidity and vibrant feel of the mouth-blown glass creates the delicate character of the Ruutu vase, which is available in five sizes and seven colours. Ruutu has received the prestigious iF Product Design Award and the Red Dot: Best of the Best Product Design award in 2015.
